So...Halloween is in a few months and with that comes the bevy of messages about Ches. I wanted to make a master post of where I got all of my materials and how I made the costume, so you all can go forth and be Ches! <3
Materials:
I used 2-inch pile fur, 1 yard in grey and 1 yard in aqua. I wanted 3 inch, but it didn't come in the colors I wanted.
This is the fur I used: www.distinctivefabric.com/fabr…
Patterns:
This is the tutorial I used for my hood, it was especially helpful when it came to the ears: www.craftster.org/forum/index.…
I simply made the whole pattern a lot bigger so it fit me more like a hood and less like a hat. The pieces that hang down, I made them extra long so I could have scarf like pieces.
Now, I wish I had a pattern for the leg warmers and the tail, but I don't. For the leg warmers, I simply measured around the top part of my calf and then measured down to see how long they needed to be, I then cut individual stripes of fabric, each one getting progressively longer, so it flared out at the bottom. I'm sure there are a bunch of tutorials online. I was to lazy to even do elastic or anything like that, they just slide onto my leg. And since I have bigger leg muscles, my calfs keep them up.
The tail was made much the same way the leg warmers were. There are plenty of tail tutorials online, but again, I was lazy and just shot the breeze with it. I measured how long it would need it to tie it around my waist because I didn't want to deal with a belt system to keep it up. Again, lazy. And then I made each stripe longer than the last so the tail got fluffier the further down you went. When I was happy with that, I stuck a bit of quilters batting into the tip, so the tail didn't look squished/flat.
And that's all she wrote!
Makeup:
My monster mouth is actually one of my favorite things about this costume and what sets it apart, in my opinion. So, here's the makeup I used if anyone was wondering.
My secret: It's all eyeliner. I used all Nyx liners because Nyx is a cheaper brand of makeup, but still a great product. I used 3 different liners, two pencil liners, one in white and one in black and I also use a liquid liner. I used a black pencil liner to draw in the general shape of the mouth, then I draw in and fill all of the teeth - do them bigger than you think they should be - and go in with a liquid liner for details. I go around each tooth with a liquid liner to give it a nice clean look. Then fill in the rest of everything else with a black pencil.
So, there you have it. That is everything I did for my Cheshire cat costume! I hope this is helpful, but if you still have questions feel free to ask. =^^=

Changes
I figured it was time to finally put the last nail in this coffin.
I will no longer be uploading new pictures to Deviantart with all of the changes in media and in my life, I no longer have time to devote uploading here.
BUT you can follow me elsewhere!
http://www.facebook.com/ChristaCosplay <----- my main source for my new cosplays and what I'm up to in the crafting world. You're welcome to join in and see what I've been up to.
http://www.littlekagsin.tumblr.com <----- my main source for 'fandom' things. I do post cosplay here but this is my personal tumblr so it's a lot more of just my interests and silly things.

Heroes of Cosplay
I'm sorry I've been slacking on updating this page! I apologize for that.
Hopefully I'll get to a SDCC wrap-up soon and maybe uploading a picture or two from the convention.
But first of all....I can't help but talk about this subject: Heroes of Cosplay. I was so tense and frustrated that I made a video about my thoughts and feelings.
Give it a watch if you feel so inclined.

SDCC 2013!
Hello everyone! Long time, no update, hmm?
So, comic con is in two weeks and, oddly, for the first time since I've been to comic con, I don't feel that excited. I'm not sure what's happened to me, but...the thought of going has me very stressed out.
I feel like it's more a reflection on me and less on the convention itself. I'm not happy with my cosplay ventures. They're not going well, or going as planned and that stresses me out.
If you follow my facebook page, you know that I'll no longer be taking Bayonetta with me and that has me crushed. CRUSHED! I've been planning on cosplaying as Bayonetta for YEARS now and I was so excited t
Gallery update
I just wanted to let you know that I've finally cleaned up my gallery!! YAY! It is completely organized and old photos are gone as well as old artwork. I'm sorry if some images you liked are gone, but I only want the best of the best of my work to be on here.
Thanks for understanding.
Also, this weekend I'll be attending Crystal Mountain Pony Con! My Fluttershy cosplay is just about done (just need to attach my cutie marks and finish the hem on my skirt), so I'll be debuting it then. My cos-sister !momomochii (https://www.deviantart.com/momomochii) will be cosplaying as Rainbow Dash with me!! <3 I'm so excited!!
I was planning on helping out a friend at her artist
