So...Halloween is in a few months and with that comes the bevy of messages about Ches.  I wanted to make a master post of where I got all of my materials and how I made the costume, so you all can go forth and be Ches!  <3

Materials:
I used 2-inch pile fur, 1 yard in grey and 1 yard in aqua.  I wanted 3 inch, but it didn't come in the colors I wanted.
This is the fur I used: www.distinctivefabric.com/fabr…

Patterns:
This is the tutorial I used for my hood, it was especially helpful when it came to the ears:  www.craftster.org/forum/index.…
I simply made the whole pattern a lot bigger so it fit me more like a hood and less like a hat.  The pieces that hang down, I made them extra long so I could have scarf like pieces.

Now, I wish I had a pattern for the leg warmers and the tail, but I don't.  For the leg warmers, I simply measured around the top part of my calf and then measured down to see how long they needed to be, I then cut individual stripes of fabric, each one getting progressively longer, so it flared out at the bottom.  I'm sure there are a bunch of tutorials online.  I was to lazy to even do elastic or anything like that, they just slide onto my leg.  And since I have bigger leg muscles, my calfs keep them up.

The tail was made much the same way the leg warmers were.  There are plenty of tail tutorials online, but again, I was lazy and just shot the breeze with it.  I measured how long it would need it to tie it around my waist because I didn't want to deal with a belt system to keep it up.  Again, lazy.  And then I made each stripe longer than the last so the tail got fluffier the further down you went.  When I was happy with that, I stuck a bit of quilters batting into the tip, so the tail didn't look squished/flat.

And that's all she wrote!

Makeup:
My monster mouth is actually one of my favorite things about this costume and what sets it apart, in my opinion.  So, here's the makeup I used if anyone was wondering.

My secret: It's all eyeliner.  I used all Nyx liners because Nyx is a cheaper brand of makeup, but still a great product. I used 3 different liners, two pencil liners, one in white and one in black and I also use a liquid liner.  I used a black pencil liner to draw in the general shape of the mouth, then I draw in and fill all of the teeth - do them bigger than you think they should be - and go in with a liquid liner for details.  I go around each tooth with a liquid liner to give it a nice clean look.  Then fill in the rest of everything else with a black pencil.

So, there you have it.  That is everything I did for my Cheshire cat costume!  I hope this is helpful, but if you still have questions feel free to ask.  =^^=
